🎨Latent Diffusion Model

NEW

Also known as: LDM

A diffusion-based generative model that denoises in a compressed latent space using an autoencoder for efficient image synthesis.

DESCRIPTION

Latent diffusion models (LDMs) perform diffusion in an autoencoder’s latent space rather than pixel space. This reduces computational cost and enables high-resolution generation with limited resources. Stable Diffusion popularized LDMs for text-to-image synthesis. LDMs use conditioning (e.g., text embeddings) and guidance for controllable outputs. They are widely fine-tuned for domains and styles, with safety filters and prompt engineering shaping usage. Deployment involves memory optimization, quantization, and GPU acceleration.

TOP QUESTIONS

Why are Latent Diffusion Models efficient?

They operate in compressed latent space, reducing dimensionality and compute versus pixel-space diffusion at comparable quality.

Category: Relevancy

How do Latent Diffusion Models relate to Stable Diffusion?

Stable Diffusion is an LDM that combines a text encoder, U-Net denoiser in latent space, and an autoencoder decoder.
