Also known as: Large-scale Image and Noisy-text Embedding
A large-scale vision-language model trained on noisy image-text pairs for robust representation learning and zero-shot transfer.
DESCRIPTION
ALIGN is a vision-language model trained on large-scale, noisy image–text pairs using contrastive objectives to learn joint embeddings. It emphasizes scaling and noisy supervision to achieve strong zero-shot performance across tasks. By aligning visual and textual representations, it enables image retrieval, classification, and captioning without task-specific fine-tuning. The approach is similar to CLIP but uses different data and training strategies. ALIGN illustrates the power of weakly labeled web-scale data for multimodal pretraining.
